We have started shipping the DN3000k10AS. This is our first product based on the Altera ApexII FPGA's and has the following features: 1 Altera ApexII FPGA in the 724BGA package (2A25, 2A40, 2A70) 4 -- 512k x36 SSRAM's (in two banks) 512 Mbyte SDRAM PC133 (in a 72-bit DIMM) http://www.dinigroup.com/products/3000k10as.html The DN3000k10AS with the 2A25 will be the cheapest logic emulation product in our lineup. ____________________________________________________________ DN3000k10S and DN3000k10 shipping with 2v8000ES... Xilinx has finally started shipping the long awaited 2v8000ES. Engineering sample parts (with very few errata) are available now. I'm told that production parts will be available in a few months. The 2v8000 has 35% more logic than the 2v6000, and this device represents the largest FPGA presently available. Each 2v8000 contains: 93,184 FF's 168 -- 18x18 multipliers 168 -- 18kbit RAM's Remember that our DN3000k10 can hold up to five of these devices, so that is more than 465,000 FF's. __________________________________________________________ Bad news from Tundra on TSI320 impacts our PCIX Extender... Tundra appears to have cancelled the TSI320 PCIX Bridge. This is bad news of us, since we were using that product on our PCIX Extender. We are looking at redoing this product based on the IBM PCIX Bridge, but haven't had much demand for PCIX products. Contact us if you are interested in PCIX emulation. __________________________________________________________ DN3000k10A with five ApexII Devices nearing completion ... Our version of the DN3000k10 using Altera ApexII family is nearing completion. Contact us if you would like a preliminary datasheet. __________________________________________________________ Stratix Versions of the DN3000k10 and DN3000k10S coming soon We are also nearing completion on a DN3000k10 and DN3000k10A based on the Stratix FPGA's from Altera. Altera has surprised us with good execution on this family, and the EP1S80 is a very attractive part for logic emulation purposes. We should have boards based on this family ready to ship in the October 2002 time frame. Contact us if you want preliminary datasheets. __________________________________________________________ Dini Group advertisement in EDN sparks controversy A full-page advertisement we ran in EDN has sparked a great deal of worldwide controversy. You can view the ad here http://www.dinigroup.com/~kklau/Ad.pdf. Dozens of people from around the world called to express concern about the bird pictured in bottom left. The picture is of one of our office pets and is an extremely rare, white-backed Mousebird. 'Freaky' was a baby at the time of the picture and on some stiff anti-bacterial medication, so some of her feathers were falling out. Freaky is fine and she isn't being tortured. The baldness has all gone away. We will be posting more normal pictures soon. __________________________________________________________ Consulting Services...
